I came across this quote today and it was perfect timing; it shifted my prespective a bit so I thought I'd share it so it can lift others too :) It's a Hopi Indian quote, not attributed to any individual as far as I can tell.
"There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift, that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold on to the shore. They will feel they are being torn apart and will suffer greatly. Know the river has its destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above the water. And I say, see who is in there with you and celebrate. At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally. Least of all, ourselves. For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt. The time of the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves! Banish the word struggle from your attitude and your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration. We are the ones we have been waiting for."

Eucalyptus: Winter cold relief...naturally
Cold season has begun and many of us will find ourselves with the head and chest congestion that goes along with it.
A simple, natural way to combat those cold symptoms is with Eucalyptus essential oil*. Medicinal properties of Eucalyptus oil include: antiseptic, decongestant, expectorant, antiviral, antifungal, antibacterial and anti-infectious - making it perfect for cold fighting!
To enjoy the benefits
*Do not use Eucalyptus oil if you have a history of hypertension (high blood pressure) or epilepsy! As with any illness, use your common sense and see a doctor if your symptoms are severe or persist for an extended period of time :)

To enjoy the benefits
- Fill a large bowl with 3-4 cups of not quite boiling water
- Add two to three drops of Eucalyptus oil (more is not necessary)
- Drape a towel over your head and inhale the wonderful steam for 5-10 minutes, be sure to close your eyes as Eucalyptus oil can cause irritation.
- Place a few drops of the oil on a warm washcloth, cover your mouth and nose with it and take some deep breaths!

What it means to be human.
I came across this short video today that I think gets right to the heart of what it means to be human - having compassion for others and not being afraid to try and make a difference in this world.
" What is the ultimate purpose of life?"
